On Fire Mahomes, Chiefs to Lay Waste on Shaky Broncos?

Sportsbooks suggest the record-breaking quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, and his Kansas City Chief, will rout Denver Broncos on week four of the NFL.

Patrick Mahomes II continues to be on a roll as he broke a five-year-old record on Kansas City Chiefs’ 38-27 against the San Francisco 49ers in the third week of the 2018-2019 National Football League (NFL) season.

On the way to the Chiefs’ third win in the same number of matches, the 23-year old quarterback’s 13 touchdowns set the record for the most TDs in the first three games of a season, a record previously held by two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning with 12.

Facing the 49ers, Mahomes completed 24 out of 39 passes and no interception for 314 yards, with one pass to the corner of the end zone taking social media by storm.

Talking to a local news outlet, Mahomes said of the game:

“I just know we’re not where we could be. I left a lot of throws out there that I could have had had some more touchdowns and given the receivers more chances to make plays. You can’t leave the throws that I did out there.”

On October 2, in-form Mahomes and the 3-0 Chiefs will head to Colorado to face one of its conference rivals, the 2-1 Denver Broncos.

The Broncos are themselves not some easy pushovers. However, the Denver club looked shaky early into the season. They managed to eke out tight wins against the Seattle Seahawks and the Oakland Raiders. A poor offense and defense, plus a terrible away record—then only a win in nine games— saw the Broncos lose in Baltimore against the Ravens.

Even with the hot streak that sparked comparisons with the recently retired Manning and other quarterback legends, Mahomes kept his feet on the ground.

Mahomes, only in his second year as a professional footballer, said:

“Each week as we keep playing, teams are going to get better and better. We play the Broncos next week on Monday night and they have a great team, so I’m excited to keep game-planning and not tor to leave those throws out there.”

Given their form coming to NFL’s fourth week, online sportsbooks heavily believe the rolling Mahome and Kansas City Chiefs will roll over the unconvincing Denver Broncos. provided the odds of 1.54 and 2.44 leaning toward the Chiefs. Similarly, mBit has the Chiefs winning at 1.45, while a Broncos victory at 2.55. Meanwhile, BetDSI has a seven-point spread favoring the Chiefs, with an over/under of 42.
