UltraPlay Now Offers NBA 2K League In-Play Odds

UltraPlay expands its live betting model by providing NBA 2K League in-play odds for the debut of the first official NBA 2K esports tournament.

UPDATE: With the new WNBA game modes in NBA 2K21, players can expect to experience WNBA in the world of esports.

UltraPlay celebrates the first season of NBA 2K League by providing in-play bets of the basketball esports tournament. With the recent addition of NBA 2K League in-play odds, UltraPlay has become the first provider to offer odds before and during the league matches.

Peter Ivanov, head of trading at UltraPlay, said:

“We are particularly excited to be the first to offer odds on NBA 2K League. When we first heard of this collaboration over a year ago, we knew that this is the next breakthrough the esports betting sector deserves to have through us. It’s another example of how esports is taking over the gaming scene turning it into an interactive entertainment business. Basketball is part of the everyday lives of so many people and now they have the real chance to participate in a professional League powered by the worldwide known brand NBA. And we will be the ones providing odds on this very exciting tournament.”

Partnered sportsbooks still offer pre-game betting markets for NBA 2K League. In-play odds of the esports tournament will provide more options for punters during the league season which will run from May to August. UltraPlay will add more betting markets regularly to the basketball esports league throughout the year.

A Brief Look at the NBA 2K League

NBA 2K League TeamsNBA 2K League was formed by the NBA organization and Take-Two Interactive, publisher of the NBA 2K series. The League is NBA’s recognition of the esports industry’s rapid growth. Take-Two Interactive’s NBA game was picked for the esports tournament because of the software’s real-world physics and high graphical fidelity.

About 72,000 potential esports players applied for the league. After two qualifying stages and one-on-one interviews, only 102 players went on to be part of NBA 2K League professional players. On April 4 in New York City, NBA esports team drafted six players among the 102 competitors. League players created their own unique characters for the games as teams are not allowed to use existing NBA players for the esports games. The 17 2K League teams will have five players compete in each game which will consist of four quarters that will last for six minutes.

The basketball esports league season will run for 17 weeks. There will be 12 weeks of weekly match-ups in which each team will play once a week. About three weeks of the season will be for in-season tournaments and the remaining two for the postseason. About eight of the best teams will play in the postseason, which will have a best-of-three format.

Punters can get in on the betting action throughout the debut season of the NBA 2K League in any UltraPlay-powered sportsbook.
