Year 2017 was great for Yggdrasil, according to the latest Q4 report. Yggdrasil Gaming 2017 figures show an incredible jump in the company’s revenue spearheaded by two recent slot releases, expansion to a new market, and more.
Yggdrasil’s performance last year is a good indication that the company is on the right track for 2018. Its momentum in 2017 can continue this year wherein there will be more innovative slot releases and company expansions.
Strong Company Performances
Yggdrasil’s Q4 2017 revenue jumped 61 percent in revenue from an MSEK of 31.8 in Q4 2016 to 51.2 during the same period last year. Yggdrasil’s EBITDA also increased by 42 percent, bringing Q4 2017’s MSEK to 21.5 from 13.2 during the same time last year. There is also an increase of 34 percent in its EBIT from MSEK 9.3 to 17.5 in contrast to both years in the same period.
The increase in Yggdrasil’s performance can also be attributed to the rise in players. There were 1,184 million player transactions of Yggdrasil games during Q4 2017. Another reason behind the company’s revenue increase is its mobile market from where Yggdrasil achieved 59 percent in total gross game win.
Innovative New Releases
Yggdrasil released two innovative slots in Q4 2017: Pumpkin Smash and Reptoids. Pumpkin Smash is a Dia de Muertos-themed slot that features a bonus game wherein players receive free spins, bet multipliers, and instant cash prizes. Reptoids, on the other hand, is a suspenseful sci-fi slot that presents an interesting Repto Detector Frame feature. This feature can turn character symbols into Wilds and unlock the game’s Scatter mode.
These two recently released games and the previously unveiled Orient Express slot helped bring in new players in Q4 2017. Year 2018 will be no different as Yggdrasil is set to release new games and bingo products.
Expanding Market Reach
Several successful partnerships allow Yggdrasil to target new markets. The company closed deals with many leading brands like Pinnacle, Tabcorp, Snaitech, and Rank Group. Deals with Jackpotjoy Group, Danske Spil/Bwin.dk, and LeoVegas allowed the software provider to reach out to the Danish Market in February last year. In Q4 2017, Yggdrasil entered the Italian regulated market.
For 2018, the company continues to target new horizons. Yggdrasil recently announced its partnership with GVC to enter the regulated Spanish market. Apart from its upcoming bingo products, the software provider plans on creating table casino games. These new products can help Yggdrasil reach out to new types of players in various markets.
