We’ve had the opportunity to talk to Gregor Rozic. He has 10 years of experience and expertise in online gaming on casino and poker content, and is now the Sales Manager at GameART.
Dear Gregor, please tell us more about your background and how did you enter the iGaming industry?
First, I worked in a Land-based Casino in various positions. After that I moved to Online casino through my friend. I’ve started to work in Online Gaming world since 2010 as Sales because it suits me to work with people, then as poker and product manager. In May 2019 GameART company called me to join their team as a Sales Manager and there was no doubt to accept this opportunity, because I knew their product (game content) and guys who stay behind this successful company as well.
What is the mission of GameART?
To constantly push the creative boundaries of game development and craft engaging products that exceed our customers’ expectations, while growing a business that recognises and values the contribution of our entire team.
What markets are you exploring?
Our core markets are in Europe, especially the eastern and southern regions, but we’re also exploring and developing solutions to harness the exciting opportunities presented by the rapidly growing Latin American and Asian markets.
Your company has a big commitment to Responsible and Regulated Gaming. How are your partners from the emerging markets reacting to this? Do they see the importance of licensing as well?
In rapidly growing emerging markets, it can be difficult for some to appreciate the need to focus on responsible and regulated gaming. However, our wealth of experience in regulated European markets enables us to help them see its value in ensuring long-term, sustainable growth.
What are your most popular games?
Each market tends to differ, but some of our most popular titles are Tiger Heart, Chili Quest, Wolf Hunt, Azrabah Wishes, and African Sunset. This is one of the reasons our casino games feature such a wide variety of themes and styles. For example, this month we’ll be launching our very first cluster game – all I’ll say is it’s going to be a very summery slot featuring an explosion of fruit.
Do you think that provable fairness, blockchain and crypto are the future of the iGaming industry, especially in Bitcoin casino and Bitcoin sports betting?
Blockchain technology definitely has a bright future in iGaming. Its ability to offer complete transparency and provable fairness can only be a great thing for gaming, and we see a future in which most gaming systems will incorporate blockchain tech.
In terms of crypto, it has already seen significant take-up in the iGaming space, but its real mainstream adoption depends a lot on politics and regulatory action. From a technical point-of-view, gaming with crypto is certainly efficient and convenient for everyone involved. But if authorities in various countries make it a hassle for regular players to obtain and use crypto, through things like overbearing KYC procedures and tax reporting, it will dampen uptake.
Are you planning to attend any upcoming events [virtual or real] in the upcoming months?
Before the COVID-19 crisis hit, GameArt had a presence at the industry’s major events all over the world, from ICE in the UK and SiGMA in Malta, to Asia and Latin America. And, while we very much hope the global situation will permit the resumption of such events soon, we have been following the explosion in virtual events with interest.
You have some constant open positions within your team: what qualities are you looking for into every new candidate? Recent world situation is changing the way we all work. Are you going to continue to be open to remote work, and therefore consider hiring people form even other parts of the globe?
Absolutely. Even before the COVID-19 crisis, GameArt had embraced remote working. Our priority is getting the right talent onboard, and ensuring everyone is happy and fulfilled, no matter where in the world they are. So far, this approach has enabled us to build an incredibly diverse and creative team, and delivered excellent results.
In terms of what we look for in team members, it would be talent, commitment and enthusiasm. Obviously, people need the required knowledge and skills to perform the specific role, but we are always more than happy to help people develop them to higher levels. However, the right attitude is a prerequisite.
You have been nominated in the “Innovation in RNG casino software” category at EGR B2B Awards. How do you see this nomination?
Here at GameArt, we don’t put too much focus on awards. We witness creative innovation, amazing results and delighted clients every day, and that’s the real reward for us. But, saying that, it’s never a bad thing to be recognised by your industry peers, so fingers crossed!
What are your business plans for the next 6 months?
As I mentioned earlier, Asia and Latin America are key target markets over the coming months, and we’ve got some extremely exciting product launches planned, including some real treats featuring globally recognised celebrities from the sports and gaming worlds. Unfortunately, I can’t reveal any more details yet, so watch this space.
