Best Crypto Casinos in Canada (October 2026)
Crypto and Bitcoin casinos that accept Canadians outside Ontario in October 2026: provincial law, CRA tax on crypto, registered exchanges and payout limits.

Disclosure We may earn a commission when you click links to operators. It never buys a place on our lists or a better rating. Editorial policy
The best Bitcoin and crypto casinos for Canadian players in October 2026 are offshore sites that accept Canadians outside Ontario and take Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and other coins: on our checks, Foxy Gold, Dracula Casino, Kingdom Casino, BitStarz, mBit, Stake and BC.Game. None of them holds a Canadian provincial registration, so they sit outside the regulated markets that Ontario and Alberta now run. Read the legal section before you deposit, because your province decides what protection you get.
Who this list is for: adults in Canadian provinces and territories other than Ontario. Ontario residents have a regulated market of their own (explained below), and Stake names Ontario on its prohibited list. Foxy Gold, licensed by the Tobique Gaming Commission, a regulator based in New Brunswick, also excludes New Brunswick in its terms. US and UK players are excluded by every brand below; US readers can use our page on crypto casinos for US players.

Ratings come from our casino rating method, and partner brands appear first. Each operator’s restricted-country clause was read through a Canadian connection on 7 and 8 October 2026. Offers are shown in euros or crypto because that is how the operators publish them; most of these casinos also let you hold a balance in Canadian dollars.
Is crypto gambling legal in Canada?
Canada has no federal online casino licence and no specific law on crypto gambling. Gambling sits in the Criminal Code: section 206 makes most betting and lottery schemes an offence, and section 207(1)(a) carves out an exception that lets the government of a province “conduct and manage” a lottery scheme in that province under provincial law. Online casino games count as a lottery scheme for this purpose. So the real question is never “is it legal in Canada” but “what has my province authorised”.
Every province has used that power, though in different ways. Most run their own online casino through a Crown corporation. Ontario and, since July 2026, Alberta have gone further and opened a market where private companies can register and operate under provincial control. Crypto changes none of this: paying in Bitcoin does not move a casino into or out of the legal framework.
Offshore crypto casinos are a third group. They hold licences from Curaçao, Anjouan, Kahnawà:ke or the Tobique Gaming Commission, accept Canadians, and are not conducted and managed by any province. The operator carries the legal exposure for offering games without provincial authority. Canadian law has not been used to prosecute ordinary players for using such sites, and we found no reported case of it, but that is not the same as permission. The practical cost to you is the lack of protection: no provincial regulator will hear your complaint, and provincial self-exclusion schemes do not reach these sites.
Province-by-province picture (October 2026)
| Province | Regulated online casino | Who runs or regulates it | Offshore crypto casinos |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ontario | Open market of registered private operators since 4 April 2022 | iGaming Ontario conducts and manages; AGCO registers and regulates | Unregulated in Ontario; affiliates of registered operators may not promote them |
| Alberta | Open market since 13 July 2026, plus the government site | Alberta iGaming Corporation manages; AGLC registers and regulates | Not authorised; registered operators must hold AGLC registration and an AiGC agreement |
| Quebec | Loto-Québec’s own online casino | Loto-Québec (Crown corporation) | Outside the provincial scheme |
| British Columbia | PlayNow.com | British Columbia Lottery Corporation | Outside the provincial scheme |
| Other provinces and territories | Provincial or regional lottery corporation sites | Each province’s Crown lottery body | Outside the provincial schemes |
How Canadian gambling law got here
| Year | Change |
|---|---|
| 1985 | Criminal Code amended so that lottery schemes run on or through a computer, video device or slot machine may only be conducted and managed by a province (now s.207(4)(c)) |
| 1999 | Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission begins licensing online gaming from Mohawk territory |
| 2021 | Bill C-218 lets provinces offer single-event sports betting from 27 August 2021 |
| 2022 | Ontario opens its regulated internet gaming market to private operators on 4 April 2022 |
| 2025 | Alberta passes the iGaming Alberta Act |
| 2026 | Alberta’s private market opens on 13 July 2026 |
The 1985 change matters most for crypto casinos. Because online casino games run “on or through a computer”, only a province can conduct and manage them lawfully. That is the legal reason no offshore site, crypto or not, can claim to be licensed for Canada as a whole.
Ontario: why this list is not for Ontario residents
Ontario launched its regulated internet gaming market on 4 April 2022. Private operators that want Ontario players must register with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and sign an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, a subsidiary of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. The AGCO’s own player FAQ is blunt: a site that did not join the regulated market is unregulated in Ontario.
The rules also reach marketing. Standard 1.21 of the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming requires registered operators to make sure that the affiliates and marketers they pay do not also promote gaming sites that accept Ontario players without AGCO registration. That is why reputable Ontario-facing comparison sites list only registered brands, and why this page does not target Ontario at all. If you live in Ontario, choose an operator on the AGCO’s list of registered internet gaming operators. You lose most crypto options, since the regulated market works in Canadian dollars, but you gain a regulator, mandatory responsible-gambling tools and a complaints route.
Several offshore brands handle Ontario themselves. Stake lists Ontario among its prohibited territories, and FortuneJack’s terms show game studios such as Hacksaw Gaming blocking Ontario even where the casino itself does not.
Alberta: a regulated market since July 2026
Alberta passed the iGaming Alberta Act in 2025 and opened its private online gaming market on 13 July 2026. The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) registers operators, and the Alberta iGaming Corporation signs the commercial agreements; an operator needs both to offer games legally in the province. Covers reported on 6 October 2026 that Stake had received an Alberta licence and planned to launch an Alberta-facing product on 12 October 2026.
For Albertans this changes the calculation. A registered site now gives you a provincial regulator and complaint process, which no offshore brand on our list can offer. Check the AGLC’s list of registered operators first, and treat the offshore list above as the option without those protections. The government site Play Alberta continues alongside the private operators. Expect registered Alberta sites to work in Canadian dollars with the payment methods AGLC approves; crypto deposits are not part of that model.
Quebec, British Columbia and the other provinces
Quebec keeps online gambling with Loto-Québec, and British Columbia with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation through PlayNow.com. Neither province has opened a market for private operators. The same holds for the remaining provinces and territories, which rely on their own Crown lottery corporations. In all of them, offshore crypto casinos operate outside the provincial scheme, which brings the trade-off described above: wider coin choice and bigger bonuses on one side, no provincial regulator on the other.
A few Canadian bodies issue licences that are not provincial at all. The Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission, based in the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawà:ke near Montreal, has licensed online gaming since 1999. The Tobique Gaming Commission is a First Nation regulator in New Brunswick and licenses Foxy Gold (0000163) and Koru Casino among others. Our licence guides explain how to check those licences. Neither body makes a casino legal in a province that has not authorised it, and Tobique licensees such as Foxy Gold exclude New Brunswick itself (clause 3.1.3 of its Canadian terms).
How we checked which crypto casinos accept Canadians
We started from the brands we have already reviewed and verified, then read each operator’s restricted-country clause through a Canadian connection on 7 and 8 October 2026. A brand made the list only if Canada was not excluded, the site loaded normally from Canada, and the offer and licence matched our verified card.
- Foxy Gold: the Canadian version of its terms (clause 3.1.3) excludes New Brunswick but not the rest of Canada. It also sets a €50,000 monthly withdrawal ceiling (clause 8.6).
- Dracula Casino and Kingdom Casino: clause 3.1.2 of their shared terms does not list Canada, and both offer Canadian dollars as an account currency.
- BitStarz: clause 3.6 lists the restricted countries and Canada is not among them. Clause 4.5 notes that games from NYX are not available to players from Canada.
- mBit: Canada is not on the clause 2.4 list; clause 2.8 blocks NYX (NextGen) games for Canadian players.
- Stake: Ontario is on the prohibited list; the other provinces are not.
- BC.Game: clause 4.3 excludes a list of countries that does not include Canada, and its site showed Canadian-dollar pricing to our Canadian connection.
One familiar name is missing on purpose. 7Bit shows Canadian visitors terms from Kika Technology B.V. (Curaçao Gaming Authority OGL/2023/147/0081), and clause 4.3.1 of that version lists “Canada (all provinces by IP)” among the territories whose players are strictly prohibited, even though the same site quotes offers in Canadian dollars. Until that contradiction is resolved, we do not list 7Bit for Canada.
We left off brands we could not confirm on the day. Winz.io and Tenobet did not load during our checks, and Koru Casino excludes New Brunswick, so they stay out until we can verify them again. Cloudbet accepts many Canadians but has no commercial relationship with this site, so it is covered only in our separate review of that brand.

Licence numbers are the ones each operator publishes in its footer or terms. The Curaçao register portal has been offline since the September 2026 breach notices, and the CGA says existing licences remain valid, so use the seal on each site to check the status. Our licence guides show where each seal leads.
What each listed casino offers Canadian players
Foxy Gold
Foxy Gold opened in 2025 and runs its crypto cashier through XCoins, which accepts eleven coins including USDT and USDC. The minimum deposit shown on the homepage is €20. French is one of its site languages, which helps players in Quebec. The track record is short, so the sensible approach is to complete one small withdrawal before you deposit more. Full details are in our review linked from its card.
Dracula Casino
Dracula Casino belongs to the Softon Ltd group, as do Kingdom Casino and Tenobet. Its slots package spreads 777% up to €7,777 over five deposits, and a separate sports package sits beside it. The operator says withdrawals are typically processed within three banking days, inside the €1,000 daily and €10,000 monthly caps. Sweden’s regulator banned the operator on 9 July 2026 for serving Swedish players despite its own restricted list; Canada is not affected directly, but it is worth knowing.
Kingdom Casino
Kingdom Casino shares Dracula’s licence and terms, with a four-deposit package of 600% up to €9,500. Its payment strip is broader than most crypto casinos: coins plus Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Google Pay and Revolut. Accounts can be held in euros or Canadian dollars among five currencies, so a CAD player avoids a conversion step on fiat deposits. The coin list is not published in its terms, so check the cashier before you buy a specific coin.
BitStarz
BitStarz has operated since 2014 and holds the highest rating on this page. It handles twelve cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin over the Lightning Network, and Canadian dollars in the same account. The terms (8.7.1) set a target of paying withdrawals within one hour where possible. NYX-supplied games are not available to Canadian players under clause 4.5, which removes a small part of a lobby of more than 6,500 titles. The review linked from its card sets out the bonus schedule.
mBit Casino
mBit is crypto-only: nine coins, no bank cards. It publishes withdrawal caps of 3 BTC per seven days and 10 BTC per 30 days and claims that 95% of withdrawals are approved in under 15 minutes. The welcome package reaches 4 BTC plus 325 free spins over three deposits, at 40x and with a one-day validity on deposit bonuses. Its footer still uses the old name of the Curaçao regulator, the Curaçao Gaming Control Board.
Stake
Stake runs no classic welcome match. Value comes through rakeback, VIP rewards and regular promotions, with no wagering on rakeback. Its in-house Stake Originals, such as dice, crash, plinko and mines, use a provably fair system that lets you verify each result, and Stake’s dice game page states a 99% RTP. Ontario is on its prohibited list. Albertans should note the separate Alberta-licensed product reported for October 2026.
BC.Game
BC.Game combines a casino, sportsbook and lottery with one of the longest coin lists in the market and an in-site swap. Its welcome system pays a monthly four-deposit bonus (180%, 240%, 300% and 360%, from a 5 dollar minimum) into locked rakeback that unlocks as you play, so the money arrives slowly. The in-house BC Originals are provably fair. The review linked from its card explains the unlock rules.
Offshore crypto casino or provincial site?
Most Canadians outside Ontario and Alberta choose between a Crown corporation site and an offshore crypto casino. The trade-offs are concrete:
| Question | Provincial or registered site | Offshore crypto casino on our list |
|---|---|---|
| Who supervises it? | Provincial regulator or Crown corporation | Curaçao, Anjouan or Tobique regulator |
| Complaints | Provincial complaint process | Casino first, then an ADR body tied to the licence |
| Payment | Canadian dollars by bank or card methods the site lists | Crypto, plus cards or e-wallets at some brands |
| Bonuses | Restricted (Ontario bans advertising inducements to the public) | Large multi-deposit packages with wagering |
| Provably fair originals | Rare | Standard at Stake and BC.Game |
| Self-exclusion | Province-wide programmes | Per-casino tools only |
| Payout caps | Set by the operator, usually high | From €1,000 a day (Softon brands) to 10 BTC a month (mBit) |
If protection and a local complaint route matter more to you than coin choice, the provincial or registered site wins. If you want to play in Bitcoin or USDT and use provably fair games, the offshore list above is the realistic option, with the limits described on this page.
What “accepts Canadian players” means day to day
Acceptance is more than an absent country name. In practice it means you can register with a Canadian address and phone number, pass KYC with Canadian ID and a utility bill, and see your province in the sign-up form. BitStarz, Dracula and Kingdom also offer Canadian dollars as an account currency, which matters if you deposit by card and want to avoid conversion fees. Quebec players may prefer Foxy Gold, whose site runs in French. If the casino ever asks for proof that you are not in Ontario or New Brunswick, answer honestly: a false declaration is grounds to void winnings under every set of terms we read.
Bonus maths in Canadian dollars
A big percentage means little until you work out the turnover. BitStarz and mBit both set 40x wagering on the bonus, and both let you hold a Canadian-dollar or crypto balance. Say you deposit 100 CAD and receive a 100 CAD bonus: 40 times the bonus is 4,000 CAD of bets before the bonus money can be withdrawn. BitStarz caps bets at 5 EUR/USD/USDT (or 0.00006 BTC) while you wager, so the turnover takes at least several hundred spins.
Expected cost gives a second check. On slots with a 96% return to player, the house keeps about 4% of turnover on average, so 4,000 CAD of play costs roughly 160 CAD in expectation, more than the 100 CAD bonus. Foxy Gold’s 35x lowers the same example to 3,500 CAD of turnover and about 140 CAD of expected cost, though its €2,000 cap on winnings from bonus funds limits the upside. mBit adds a time limit: deposit bonuses are valid for one day unless stated otherwise. Bonuses are worth taking only if you would play that volume anyway. Our welcome bonus guide runs the same sums for every brand we list.
Crypto units work the same way. On a 0.002 BTC bonus at 40x, the turnover is 0.08 BTC. Because the coin’s price moves while you play, the Canadian-dollar value of both the bonus and the turnover can change before you finish, which is one reason many players keep their casino balance in USDT or in Canadian dollars.
Which cryptocurrencies Canadians use at casinos
Bitcoin remains the default, and every brand on our list that publishes its coins accepts it. Bitcoin’s network targets a new block about every 10 minutes, and casinos usually wait for one or more confirmations before crediting a deposit, so a deposit can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour when the network is busy. Our Bitcoin casino guide covers fees and confirmation settings in detail.
- Ethereum (ETH): blocks arrive about every 12 seconds. Fees have fallen since the Dencun upgrade on 13 March 2024, but a deposit still needs the casino’s exact network.
- Tether (USDT): a dollar-pegged stablecoin, popular because the balance does not swing with crypto prices. It exists on several networks (Ethereum, Tron, Solana and others), and sending on the wrong one is the most common way to lose a deposit. Tether can also freeze tokens at the issuer level. Our Tether casino page explains the networks.
- Litecoin and Dogecoin: cheap and quick for small deposits; Foxy Gold, BitStarz and BC.Game list both.
- Altcoins: BC.Game and Foxy Gold accept long coin lists, including XRP, TRX, ADA and BNB at Foxy Gold through its XCoins cashier.
Coins at the listed casinos
| Coin | Accepted at (operator lists) | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | Foxy Gold, BitStarz, mBit, Stake, BC.Game; Lightning at BitStarz | On-chain fees rise when blocks are full; Lightning needs a Lightning wallet |
| Ethereum (ETH) | Foxy Gold, BitStarz, mBit, Stake, BC.Game | Pick mainnet or the layer-2 the casino names, never a guess |
| Tether (USDT) | Foxy Gold, BitStarz, mBit, Stake, BC.Game | Several networks; issuer can freeze tokens |
| Litecoin (LTC) | Foxy Gold, BitStarz, mBit, Stake, BC.Game | Low fees; fewer Canadian platforms list it than Bitcoin |
| Dogecoin (DOGE) | Foxy Gold, BitStarz, Stake, BC.Game | Price swings faster than BTC |
Coin lists come from each operator’s own cashier or terms as summarised in our reviews; Dracula and Kingdom do not publish theirs, so check the cashier before you buy. A coin that your Canadian platform lists but your casino does not will need a swap first, which is another taxable disposition.
Whatever coin you use, copy the deposit address and network from the casino’s cashier each time, send a small test amount first, and keep the transaction ID until the deposit is credited.
Games, provably fair originals and sports betting
Crypto casinos stock the same studio slots and live dealer tables you find at provincial sites, plus a category the regulated Canadian markets rarely carry: in-house “originals” such as crash, dice, plinko, mines and limbo. These are built on provably fair systems. Before each round the casino commits to a hashed server seed; you supply or accept a client seed; after the round the casino reveals the server seed so you can recompute the result and confirm it was not changed. Our provably fair guide shows the check step by step. The method proves a result was not altered after your bet; it does not change the house edge, which the game rules still set.
Studio games are different. Slots from providers such as Pragmatic Play or live tables from studios rely on the provider’s certified random number generator instead, and some providers block Canada or individual provinces. That is why BitStarz and mBit both exclude NYX games for Canadians.
Sports betting has its own Canadian history. Single-event sports betting became legal for provinces to offer when the Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act (Bill C-218) came into force on 27 August 2021; before that, provincial products were limited to parlays. Foxy Gold, Dracula, Kingdom, Stake and BC.Game all run sportsbooks that cover North American leagues alongside soccer and esports, but the same provincial rules apply: in Ontario and Alberta, registered sportsbooks are the regulated route.
Playing on mobile
None of the listed brands needs an app store download. They run in the phone browser, and real-money gambling apps on the App Store and Google Play need a licence for the market where they are offered, which these operators do not hold for Canada. Bookmark the casino’s real domain, because Softon brands move between numbered mirror domains (for example kingdomcasino6.io), and phishing copies often imitate those mirrors.
Buying crypto in Canada: use a registered platform
Canada regulates crypto trading platforms through the provincial securities commissions, coordinated by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA). The CSA advises Canadians to use platforms registered with Canadian securities regulators and says platforms outside Canada that serve Canadians must register too. Its list of crypto platforms authorized to do business with Canadians (last updated 18 September 2026) is the place to check before you buy.
| Platform (legal entity) | CSA status, September 2026 |
|---|---|
| Coinbase Canada Inc. | Authorised crypto asset trading platform (decision 3 April 2024, amended 1 April 2026) |
| Kraken (Payward Canada Inc.) | Authorised (decision 1 April 2025) |
| Wealthsimple Investments Inc. | Authorised (decision 18 December 2023, amended 22 December 2025) |
| Shakepay Inc. | Authorised (decision 8 January 2025) |
| Newton Crypto Ltd. | Authorised (amended decision 25 March 2026) |
| Netcoins Inc., Ndax Canada Inc., Coinsquare Capital Markets Limited | Authorised |
| Crypto.com (Foris DAX CAN ULC) | Authorised (decision 8 May 2025) |
Registration with a securities regulator is separate from FINTRAC registration as a money services business; FINTRAC states that its registration is not an endorsement. A platform can also limit which coins and networks it lets you withdraw, so check that it supports the network your casino uses before you buy. Our crypto exchange guides walk through Coinbase and Kraken step by step.
From Canadian dollars to a casino deposit, step by step
- Open an account with a platform on the CSA list and complete its identity check.
- Fund it in Canadian dollars using a method the platform lists on its funding page.
- Buy the coin your casino accepts. For small amounts, USDT, Litecoin or another low-fee network keeps costs down.
- Withdraw to your own wallet first if you want a record that you control, or straight to the casino address if the platform allows it.
- In the casino cashier, pick the coin and network, copy the address, and send a small test amount before the full deposit.
Some Canadian platforms ask why you are withdrawing to an external address, and banks sometimes question transfers linked to gambling. Answer honestly; a frozen exchange account is harder to fix than a delayed deposit.
Withdrawals, KYC and payout caps
Crypto casinos still verify players. Every brand on our list reserves the right to ask for identity documents and proof of address, usually before a first withdrawal or once totals pass an internal threshold. Foxy Gold’s terms (clause 4.2) say a picture ID and a recent utility bill may be required before you can withdraw. Do the check early, with documents that match the name on your account, so a withdrawal is not held while you search for paperwork.
Payout limits matter more than advertised speed. Foxy Gold applies default limits of €4,000 a day and €10,000 a week, with a €50,000 monthly ceiling in its Canadian terms. Dracula Casino and Kingdom Casino cap withdrawals at €1,000 a day and €10,000 a month under clause 6.13 and set a €100 minimum withdrawal. BitStarz states a target of paying withdrawals within an hour where possible. If you plan to play large amounts, read the limit clause before you deposit, not after you win.
- Withdraw to an address you control, on the same network the casino names.
- Expect the first withdrawal to take longer while KYC is reviewed.
- Keep screenshots of the cashier, the transaction ID and any chat with support.
- Never use a VPN to reach a casino: the terms of every brand on our list allow the operator to close the account and void winnings if you mask your location.
Turning winnings back into Canadian dollars
- Withdraw from the casino to your own wallet or straight to your registered exchange account, using the same coin and network.
- Wait for the network confirmations the exchange requires before the coins show as available.
- Sell for Canadian dollars on the platform and withdraw to your bank account.
- Record the date, amount and Canadian-dollar value of each step for your tax records.
Selling stablecoins avoids price swings between the casino payout and the sale, but every swap or sale is still a disposition for the CRA. Expect your bank to ask about large incoming transfers from a crypto platform; a statement from the platform usually settles it.
Taxes on casino winnings and crypto in Canada
Recreational gambling winnings are generally not taxable in Canada. The Canada Revenue Agency’s income tax folio S3-F9-C1 treats windfalls such as gambling wins as non-taxable unless the gambling amounts to a business. Interest or other income you later earn on the winnings is taxable in the normal way.
Crypto is different, because the CRA treats it as property. Selling, swapping or spending a coin, including sending it to a casino as a stake, is a disposition. If you hold crypto as an investment, any gain is a capital gain and half of it is included in income. The federal government announced in 2024 that it would raise that inclusion rate to two-thirds, then said on 21 March 2025 that it would not proceed, and the CRA applies the 50% rate.
Worked example
Suppose you bought 0.01 BTC for 800 CAD and later deposited it at a casino when it was worth 1,100 CAD. The deposit is a disposition with a 300 CAD capital gain, of which 150 CAD is taxable income. If you later withdraw winnings as 0.015 BTC worth 1,700 CAD, the win itself is not taxed for a recreational player, but your new cost for that 0.015 BTC is 1,700 CAD. Sell it later for 2,000 CAD and you have another 300 CAD gain to report. Keep a record of every deposit and withdrawal with the Canadian-dollar value on the day.
Can the CRA track crypto?
Yes, more than many players assume. Registered Canadian platforms verify your identity and keep transaction records, and reporting entities must file a large virtual currency transaction report with FINTRAC when they receive virtual currency worth 10,000 CAD or more in a single transaction or a series within 24 hours. Blockchain transfers are public and permanent, so a deposit from a verified exchange account to a casino address can be traced afterwards.
Interac and cards at offshore crypto casinos
“Crypto casino with Interac” is a common search, but the fiat options at offshore brands change often and depend on the payment provider of the week. We did not confirm Interac at any brand on our list, so we do not claim it. Kingdom Casino shows cards, Google Pay and Revolut alongside crypto; Foxy Gold routes crypto through XCoins; mBit takes crypto only. Some Canadian banks decline card payments to offshore gambling merchants, which is one reason players buy crypto on a registered platform instead.
Checking a licence before you deposit
- Scroll to the casino footer and find the operator’s company name and licence number.
- Click the regulator’s seal. For Curaçao it should open a Curaçao Gaming Authority validation page on cga.cw; for Anjouan and Tobique, the seal’s own link is the reliable check, because a bare-domain lookup can return INVALID.
- Match the company and domain on the validation page to the casino you are on, including mirror domains.
- Read the restricted-country clause and confirm your province is not named.
- Note the complaint route: the Curaçao Gaming Authority does not settle individual disputes, so complaints go to the casino first and then to one of the CGA-certified alternative dispute resolution bodies; Anjouan complaints go through the site seal, and the operator has 30 days to respond.
A licence from these regulators confirms that a named company is supervised somewhere. It does not give you the deposit protection, advertising rules or binding complaint rulings that a provincial regulator would. Players in other countries face very different rules; compare our pages on crypto casinos and Australian law and the US market.
Red flags and a pre-deposit checklist
A crypto casino does not have to be on our list to be safe, and being on a list does not make one risk-free. These checks take ten minutes and catch most problems before money moves:
- Named operator: the footer and terms should name a company, its registration number and its licence. Anonymous sites with only a logo and a seal image are a warning sign.
- Working seal: the regulator seal should open a validation page on the regulator’s own domain, not a static picture.
- Your province in the terms: search the terms for “Canada”, “Ontario” and your province. Clauses about game providers and about the whole site are different things; 7Bit shows why it pays to read the whole document.
- Bonus rules you can live with: wagering multiple, maximum bet, expiry and any cap on winnings from bonus funds.
- Payout limits and fees: daily, weekly and monthly ceilings, minimum withdrawal and any fee for repeated withdrawals.
- Complaint route: a published complaints email and a named dispute resolution body.
- Pressure tactics: promo codes pushed by influencers, “guaranteed” wins or deepfake celebrity ads are scams, whatever the brand name on the page.
Risks to weigh
- No provincial protection: offshore play falls outside ConnexOntario-linked self-exclusion, PlayNow or Loto-Québec limits and any provincial complaint process.
- Price movement: a Bitcoin balance can lose value while it sits in a casino account; stablecoins reduce that risk but add issuer risk.
- Payout ceilings: daily and monthly caps can stretch a large win over months.
- Account closure: breaking the terms, including using a VPN or entering a wrong address, can void winnings.
- Irreversible transfers: crypto sent to the wrong address or network is usually gone.
Common mistakes Canadian crypto players make
- Sending USDT on the wrong network. An exchange may default to Ethereum while the casino address is on Tron, or the reverse. Match the network name character for character.
- Depositing before reading the province clause. 7Bit and Stake show that the restricted list can name a province or the whole country, and a breach can void winnings.
- Taking a bonus by default. A bonus locks your balance until the wagering is done. If you might want to withdraw soon, decline it at the cashier.
- Forgetting the tax side of crypto. The win may be tax-free, but swapping coins and selling them later are dispositions that belong on your return.
- Using a shared or exchange-owned address for withdrawals without checking. Some platforms do not credit deposits from gambling sites or require a memo or tag; check the platform’s deposit rules first.
- Chasing losses with new purchases. Buying more crypto mid-session bypasses the budget you set in Canadian dollars. Deposit limits inside the casino help.

Frequently asked questions
Are crypto casinos legal in Canada?
The Criminal Code lets each province conduct and manage gambling, so legality depends on your province. Offshore crypto casinos are not authorised by any province; the operator carries the legal risk, and we found no reported prosecution of an ordinary player, but you get no provincial protection or complaint route.
Which crypto casino in Canada is the best?
On our October 2026 checks, BitStarz has the highest rating among brands that accept Canadians outside Ontario, followed by mBit, Stake and BC.Game. The best choice depends on your coin, your province and how much you plan to withdraw, so compare licences and payout caps before you sign up.
Can I use a crypto casino in Ontario?
Ontario runs a regulated market through iGaming Ontario and the AGCO, and sites outside it are unregulated in the province. This list is not for Ontario residents, and Stake excludes Ontario in its terms. Ontario players should choose an AGCO-registered operator.
Are gambling winnings taxable in Canada?
Recreational gambling winnings are generally not taxable under the CRA folio S3-F9-C1. Crypto is different: depositing, swapping or selling coins is a disposition, and half of any capital gain is taxable for most investors.
Can the CRA track crypto?
Registered Canadian platforms verify identity and keep records, and large virtual currency receipts of 10,000 CAD or more must be reported to FINTRAC. Blockchain transfers are public, so deposits from a verified exchange account can be traced.
Which crypto site is legal in Canada?
For buying crypto, use a platform on the Canadian Securities Administrators list of platforms authorized to do business with Canadians, such as Coinbase Canada, Kraken (Payward Canada), Wealthsimple, Shakepay or Newton. That list covers trading platforms, not casinos.
Is Stake legal in Canada?
Stake.com is licensed in Curaçao, not by a Canadian province, and its terms exclude Ontario. Covers reported in October 2026 that Stake received an Alberta licence for a separate Alberta-facing product. Outside those cases Stake operates offshore, with the same lack of provincial protection as other brands on this page.
Do crypto casinos accept Interac?
Some offshore casinos offer Interac through third-party processors, but these options change often and we did not confirm Interac at any brand on our list in October 2026. Buying crypto on a registered Canadian platform and depositing it is the route we could verify.
