UPI stands for Unified Payments Interface. It is an instant payment system that allows for real-time peer-to-peer and person-to-merchant transactions across various banks. This system was developed by National Payments Corporation of India and is under the regulation of the Reserve Bank of India. Through this system, users can seamlessly transfer funds in real-time, disregarding the limitations set by different banks. Users can conduct fund transfers between bank accounts through a mobile platform. This system includes third-party apps like Google Pay and Paytm, among others.
